Welcome to Lewisham Homesearch - The way to look for Council and Housing Association homes of all sizes in the Lewisham Borough.
We aim to give you more choice in deciding where you want to live. Properties that are available for rent will be advertised from Thursday to Sunday each week. Please note that where there is a bank holiday there will be no properties adverts available that week.
You must then tell us which properties you are interested in. This process is known as bidding. You may only bid for a property if your application has been accepted onto our housing register.
The Homesearch newsletter and website gives you information about the council
and housing association properties being advertised in Lewisham.
Homeless or Underoccupying applicants are already given priority for some properties.
In future priority for a number of other properties will also be given to Decants
(households moving for redevelopment), Severe Overcrowding (households overcrowded
by two bedrooms or more) and Move-On Supported Housing (households moving from
supported accommodation). The properties advertised for the preference groups are
selected randomly.
This is to make sure that we allocate properties to all groups in greatest need. If you are
not in the named priority group for a property, you can still bid for it if you are interested,
but if there is also a bid from the named priority group they will be considered first.
Our website is packed with useful information to help you find you a suitable home. You can use this website to:
