Housing Allocations Consultation

Our consultation into changes to our Allocations Scheme (how we let social housing) has been extended and now closes on 14th March 2021.  If you have not already responded, we would like to hear your views. You can find out more and respond at

Homesearch – Third National Lockdown

  1. Following the Government’s announcement of a National lockdown from Tuesday 5th January 2021, Homesearch will continue, in the usual way, to advertise and let social housing in Lewisham.

If a client/household has placed a bid prior to the lockdown and subsequently refuses to view a property because of the lockdown, Homesearch will pass onto the next candidate at the request of the landlord.  If the client is subject to the ‘one offer only’ policy and refuses to view/sign-up because of the lockdown this may be counted as a refusal, however, the Council will consider this on an individual basis.

If any client/household bids for a property during lockdown they will be expected to view/sign-up.  If they do not wish to view a property and/or move they should not bid for properties during the lockdown period. However, there may be some households who have to move.

To log into Lewisham Homesearch you will need your unique Housing register number and your memorable date.

Please note that if you have a welfare priority band you will only be eligible for properties advertised for over 55's.  If you bid on general needs properties you will not be shortlisted for them.
